Ted Pfeifer

Ted Pfeifer has more than 30 years' experience negotiating real estate transactions, primarily in retail, as a principal, corporate executive, broker and consultant. He has experience in a range of circumstances, including bankruptcy restructurings, disposition of excess space and large-scale acquisitions.

Mr. Pfeifer was successful reducing liabilities for both Modern Woman and McCrory's in bankruptcy proceedings through the swift negotiation of lease terminations and rent reductions and the sale of unwanted real estate. On another assignment, he was instrumental in the effort to reduce rents for 135 grocery store leases for Jitney Jungle, saving the company millions of dollars and enabling the sale of many of sites.

He has assisted a number of companies in both the acquisition and disposition of sites including: Panera Bread, Simply Fashions, Charming Shoppes, Hancock Fabric, Sneaker Villa, Dollar General, Rite Aid, Just Cabinets, Value Plus, and many others.

On the corporate side, Mr. Pfeifer was Real Estate Manager for Eckerds and Walgreens, where he was responsible for new sites and dispositions for a large territory covering the Southeastern states. He spent 13 years with McCrory's, where he oversaw the entire Southeast expansion and eventually was elevated to National Real Estate Director with responsibility for the entire US portfolio. Later, he became National Real Estate Director for the 150 unit Modern Woman where he was a member of the Senior Management Team and part owner and was responsible for all real estate matters for the company on a national basis.

Mr. Pfeifer began his career in commercial brokerage and was a real estate representative for General Tire and Rubber where he was responsible for new stores. He was a Franchise Manager and Real Estate Representative for Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) where he located buyers and new sites for the chain. After KFC, Ted went to Eckerd Drug and Walgreen’s before joining McCrory stores.

Mr. Pfeifer received his bachelors' degree from the University of Indiana with a triple major of Real Estate, Economics and European History. Ted has studied abroad at the Universitaire de Rennes a St Malo, France.
